Mamavation - Week #6

I am horrible with time zones - and as much as I wanted to attend the Fiber party, I got there just for the final Thank Yous! Too bad, because I really never figured Fiber out. I thought it was the more the better kind of a deal, but maybe not...

I guess, I need a fiber tutor. Anyone is willing to help?

I did my best on not eating at night - I had late unsweetened tea (decaf) with just a bit of dark chocolate - great thing about real bitter chocolate - you cannot have more than a little at a time.

On Friday I went to the Mighty Chuck E Cheese Birthday Party for 1 year old at 7 PM. Funny thing - 2-3 slices of pizza and a cake and I left the party hungry. There is no nutrition there. Isn't it? I ended up getting home and having scrambled eggs at 9 pm. Oh, well...

I on purpose didn't workout this week, because wanted to see clear impact of not eating at night on weight. I did do balance ball bouncing for at least two hours once. Loved it!

Weight - Gained 2 pounds. Blah! I do notice that my clothes is hanging looser - especially pants.

Keeping track of goals:
1. shed 10 lbs by the end of January. 9.8 to go from 200 lb on 11/8/10 (start 04/01/10 - 209 lb)
2. 2-3 gallons of water a day 3 out 7 days
3. Stop night snacking only did it once
4. 6 bike trips to work and back Still have 4 more to go

Applauds to Subway for the support of this great programs and Good Luck to everyone in the weight loss journey!

Also I would like to congratulate Heather on becoming a sista of the week. Cheers!

  1. The fiber thing, as far as I can tell is to eat lots of whole foods, including veggies and fruits and basically you will get your fiber. The bars and other stuff should be kept to a minimum.

Great job not eating at night!!

  2. Good job on keeping track of your goals, that in itself is really important to making progress. Best of luck to you this week.

  3. Never been to Chuck E Cheese, but if you left hungry then pretty sure I'll skip it if I ever get the chance, lol. I like your experiment with your diet and exercise, I bet you'll see great results this next week when you add it back in.
Greta goals this week. Good Luck!

  4. I still feel like I have so much more to learn about fiber myself. I am sticking with real raw and whole foods whenever possible.

I just noticed that our kids are about the same ages... my daughter is 15 months old and my son just turned 3. I know that those ages keep you very busy. So, I applaud all your hard work.

I love biking to work! Now as a SAHM I don't have a motivating destination anymore. Have a great week!

  5. Wow! your watery goal is fantastic. You're encouraged me to be extra good about that this week. Thanks!

  6. You gotta remember that fiber is still calories in...so the more you eat, the more calories you are consuming. Switching to foods that are higher in fiber should help you feel fuller vs. "white" foods, and have more nutritious value to them. They can definitely help keep you regular too, but gotta remember to keep the water up too especially with more fiber.

  7. Sometimes that happens. Our weight and clothes size are different. Right now, I weigh more but am skinnier because of all the muscle (I'm assuming.) Good thing you are focusing on nutrition, because if you want to lose weight, it's 85% what you put in your mouth. XXOO

  8. I am your fiber girl!! Tweet at me, or even e-mail me, with any questions that you have. Remember that fiber comes from plant sources, so veggies, fruits, and grains all have fiber (unless the grain has been processed to death!). I'm here for ya - ask me!

  9. so awesome good luck at reaching 200 im 18 lbs away from it. seeing all these wii things makes me want them at least to get the wii fit thing. my friend got a wii for her kids guess ill have to see if i can come over to use hers lol.

have a great week and good luck with your goals
